Title: Tower of Monsters
Overgrown ivy had reclaimed the tower, covering the crumbling walls and trailing through the narrow windows. A chill wind howled like ghostly wolves. Bats flitted from shadow to shadow in the darkness of the forgotten upper floors. Looking closely for traps, Reinhart swore he saw some of the leering gargoyles move every now and then, or their eyes flash red.
How overly theatrical, he thought to himself. Is that supposed to keep me out? He already knew first hand the complexities of the Immortal underworld, the dangers of misjudging a potential ally... or oversimplifying a situation around a potential enemy.
